great to spend a few hours cooking and eating Malay food!
Myself and my 15 yr old daughter did the chinese/malay Friday cooking class. We had a fabulous time. The ladies were delightful. There was a market tour before hand which was a short walk away from the Cooking School. We were shown local meat, seafood, spices, fruits and vegetables. The market tour was about 40 mins and is only done on the Friday class. You can skip this part if you want. The food we prepared and cooked was lovely and I can't wait to cook it back home. We were shown 3 courses and then whilst we were preparing our courses and eating them the ladies had dessert on the boil - which took hours to cook.. We had a bowl of the dessert at the end and it was delicious...We were given small recipie books to take notes in and take home.It was a lovely way to spend a half a day. I can't wait until my next KL visit to book a different classThere was transport to and from the class for a reasonable fee, considering we had to be at the class by 8.30 for the market tour the transport was easy and convenient. Communication beforehand was also excellent with Sue phoning to confirm class, arrange transport, then confirm times.
Spent about four hours whipping up local dishes at this well-run cooking school. Our teacher was terrific, the food delicious and the instruction book very helpful. Purchased all the necessary items needed to make the dishes at home upon our return. Had a great time with the teacher and staff, as well as the other couple. Recommend this highly if you enjoy attending local cooking class during your visits to foreign countries.
4 cooking teaching colleagues attended this amazing day. We did the markets and Malay cooking class which was very interesting and was well delivered by Sue and Saddiah, the ladies bring great knowledge and a sense of humour to the class. The support staff are efficient and the premises are exceptionally clean, well equipt and organised. The food was delicious. It was a terrific experience that I would recommend to anyone with a love of food .
