I was born and brought up in Hangzhou. Kuiyuanguan was my favourite noodle place in Hangzhou. It is very convenient and delicious. It's got different menus in different seasons. The most classic choices are Pian'erchuan and Xiabaoshan noodle. Definitely worth a try!

Not too cheap, for Hanzhou prices, but the fried eel noodles (35RMB) I tried was really good. They have a menu with photos, which helps. Heard the eel-shrimp noodles, were their speciality, but already had tons of shrimps for lunch, so went for just the eels. The soup was also not too salty, not too bland and just right. The noodles were also not to soggy and just right, and even better than the bowl I had at Lou Wai Lou. They only had Budweiser's for beer though, when I wanted to try somthing local (a bit pricey and 15RMB). The restaurant, is extremely clean, which is something you notice in a lot of places in Hangzhou, but I guess they are on the high-end for noodles. Would have gone there again during my stay to try some more, if I had had the time.
