This place is a must, you arrive at the pier and are taken by longtail boat to the floating restaurant, on arrival you walk along wooden planks and view the live fresh seafood beneath your feet. You sit at a floating table and place your order, the local tom yam gung soup was spicy and tasty, we order a selection of local fish and prawns all cooked on the BBQ, and to finish a local caught lobster, the sauces they supplied with each course were amazing. We arrived about 6pm and spent almost 3 hours eating the meal and appreciating the experience, the cool se air blowing over the bay was well appreciated. Not all places sell alcohol, luckily this one did, it also took credit cards. At the end of the evening we enjoyed a romantic boat trip back to the pier and then a lazy trip back in to the town of Phuket to enjoy the remainder of the evening, not all seafood is cheap, so best check the menu before ordering

The floating restaurants off Laem Pier are a 'must do' when visiting Phuket in my opinion. On this occasion the free 3 minute longtail boat ride took us to Kru Suwit where we tucked into fresh jumbo Tiger prawns done 2 ways and a cod of some sort 2 ways. The sauces were divine and the freshness of the seafood guaranteed as you can watch your selected seafood being netted out of the holding areas which are located in the restaurant. There is a variety of live seafood that you can choose from and/or you can choose from a selection of the more 'typical' Thai dishes. T All in all, a great way to have lunch.
