Khao Kheow is a wonderful Zoo located on a green mountain, Khao is the thai word for mountain and Kheow means green. Here you will find plants, trees, wild animals and a bird aviary. Tips for you
Decided to take the kids to Khao Kheow Open Zoo last weekend. I highly recommend hiring a golf buggy to get around the Zoo as it is huge also better than your own car as there is not a lot of parking so its harder to squeeze your car in. I dont recommend to take a ton of bags with you in the buggy as you will be having to take them in and out with you each time you stop (as there is obviously no where to keep your bags to prevent theft). I have been to probably all of the Zoos in Bangkok, and just outside of Bangkok and this by far the biggest. The animals seem to be well taken care of, although their enclosures are not at all clean or of a decent standard but that seems to be the way in Thailand. But at least they are taken care of (I've seen anorexic lions at other zoos). There are plenty of snacks on the way, (limited toilet stops) Kids had a ball feeding the animals. We were there for about 3 hours (toddler got exhausted was time to leave) but didn't see all the animals.
