Why Khao Khanab Nam Mountains is special ?
Inside Khao Khanap Nam are several magnificent caves with impressive clusters of stalactites and stalagmites. The only way to get there is by boat from the Chao Fah Bridge in Krabi. These two hills, roughly 100 meters high, flank the Krabi River running between them to form a distinctive vista and the town's most prominent landmark.
To experience the serenity and scenery, one should rent a riverboat and make a trip along the river. In addition, the boat trip is very helpful to explore the Thai fishing village and a beautiful cavern under the mountain, which is said to be thousands of years old.
Boat can be rented at the Krabi town pier on hourly basis for about THB150- 300/hr that includes sightseeing and guide fee.
It takes 15 minutes to reach Khao Khanap Nam’s twin peaks by long tail boat from Chao Fa Pier in Krabi. It sits before the city and can be visited by long tail boat from Chao Fa Pier. From the boat, one climbs a staircase to see caves with stalactites and stalagmites.
Note: Long tail boats may not always include shade from the sun or drinking water so remember to take sun lotion, a hat and a bottle of water with you.
