Reviews
The architecture and warm woodwork of this place is stunning. Truly feel like you are in ancient Hue. The menu is extensive, with Vietnamese and Europea options. I had Vietnamese crispy yellow noodles with tofu (staff accomodated my request for tofu - otherwise wasn't an option). Tasty. Then, suddenlu, all the staff disappeared after the coffee I ordered came to me cold when I ordered hot. Perhaps go for dinner when there are more staff to help you decide from the vast menu or take care of miscues like cold coffee.
We popped in there for a late lunch, and were had great chicken pho , correctly served with different herbs etc on the side. There was also a good choice of fresh fruit juices. A few days later we decided to return for dinner. It's a very beautiful, atmospheric place in a traditional Vietnamese building with water features, nicely decorated etc... a shame it was almost empty on both occasions. The reason may be,that it's set back from the street, but it's in a good location opposite the Huong Giang hotel. At dinner we tried Banh Beo, which was slightly weird, good morning glory with garlic, our staple chicken with chili and lemongrass, which tasted fine, although the chicken was a little hard. The crispy noodles with vegetables were expertly prepared, and simply delicious! Beer was cheap, and service from a couple of young girls smiling and sweet, although a little slow. There were quite a few interesting items on the menu, some of which you don't see on every menu. Had we stayed longer in Hue, I'm sure we'd have visited again, as too many of the other restaurants are just too touristy.
