Tips for you
This must be the fifth or sixth time my family has eaten here over the past two years. The food is consistently very, very good, and the restaurant is clean and lovely with a beautiful view. During low season in Phuket there is a risk with eating seafood as the turnover of product may not be fast enough to ensure freshness. I know that whenever we go to Kan Eang, regardless of how busy it is (or not), we always get really fresh seafood. It's right on the beach, so it's perfect if you go with children as there are usually no waves and the kids can run around to their heart's content. The staff may not all speak much English, but they are friendly and helpful. There is always a manager or two around to take care of complicated requests. Yesterday my son wanted to go there for the grilled tiger prawns, so despite the rain we went. We were the only ones there when we arrived (although a group arrived just before we left). We ate in a little palm covered mini chalet that kept the rain off. The grilled tiger prawns were fantastic, as were the veggies, the green curry, and the fried chicken. I strongly suggest trying the banana flower salad - it's light and spicy and probably my favourite dish there. After the meal we prepared to drive home in our rental car when I discovered I'd left the lights on in my car and flattened the battery. I went back to the restaurant and told the manager - who then arranged for someone to bring jumper leads. He then helped me jump the car and got me on my way. LOVE these people, thank you for
