For US travelers seeking a taste (but better) of the dim sum they know from "Chinatowns" back home, this is the place. Really easy to order both familiar and new dishes. Some were delicious. Others just good. So conveniently located near the subway stop. Open 24 hours--perfect for that jet-lagged appetite. A good people watching place as well. Would recommend this highly as one of your stops while in Beijing--but don't think this is Beijing dining. It is not. It is a taste of Guangsho in the nation's capital.
Great dim sum! It has a more extensive menu than what I saw in Hong Kong. As usual I got a lot of good stuff for not much money. 24 hour restaurant (great idea for going to get breakfast before going to the airport as its only one subway stop from the airport train).
Our guide took us here for lunch. A bit of a wait, maybe 15 minutes but well worth it. Food was brought to our table quickly, hot and delicious. Although all of the food in Beijing was much better than any Chinese food when have had here in Canad this place really stood out. The place was huge, and crowded and the atmosphere made you feel this was "real China". I think we were the only foreigners in the place. The menus were easy to follow with lots of photos, although our guide ordered for us. They gave you a number and called it when the table was ready. It was a little awkward for us when we showed up at our table and the previous guests were still getting jackets on etc. Washrooms were on the second floor. The place was very clear. This is the first time I have seen this. They put your jacket on the back of your chair then cover it with a large cloth sack. Our guide explained it is to prevent people going through your pockets or waiters spilling food on your jackets. I happily recommend the food and the experience. You can see them making the dumplings, they must make tens of thousands a day
A must! Open 24h, lots of choice, reasonably priced. Can be very busy, be ready to wait a little but even though the place is huge
