Tips for you

  • Peak hour is 12:00pm onward. If you do not like big crowds, try to go there early in the morning.
  • Do not forget to bargain if you want to buy anything in the Jade Market. Start your bargaining at least 20% below their asking price.
    Ticket and Pricing
  • Cash only for payment! No credit card! ATM is just around the corner (1 from the bank and other from 7-11 near the Fullout Hotel).
    Ticket and Pricing
  • Beware of non-priced items tho, and beware of illegal ivory and coral.
  • - Not all vendors speak English, but you shouldn’t have much trouble making yourself understood—other shoppers are often eager to jump in and help with translation. - Not much space in each little stall do don't take big backpacks, you would knock things over!

I read about this place through the tripadvisor phone apps. Since I have no specific itinerary for my 4d3n trip, I decided to give this place a try.I visited this place on a Sunday morning. I was surprised by the array of flowers and plants available at the place. It is as good as a mini flora expo to me. The flowers are fresh and beautiful. The place is easily accessible via the train station. When at Da-an MRT station, approach the train station staff for the direction and it can be found easily.Other than flowers, there is a jade market which you can visit as well. Spend 2-hours at this place and it can make your morning well-spent.

The jade market in Taipei is much bigger than the jade market in Hongkong and shows more variety. The coral sellers and carvers have many beautiful pieces, although the price of coral is rather high, but not only here.

Three markets (Flower, Jade, Artist) are located next to each other on Jianguo South Road (Da-an MRT Station). They are open on weekends only. You can easily spend a good half day there - so much to see and buy. We did all our souvenirs shopping there: ceramic tea pots, teas, crafts, jewelry (do not forget to bargain). If you do not like big crowds try to go there early in the morning.

Only opens on weekends. Definitely worth spending 2-3 hours. We spend about 3 hours strolling in the Jade and Flower Market. It was blissful. The Jade market sells stuff worth thousands of US Dollars out in the open. There is no security, which was a big surprise. I loved looking at the coral jewelry, Jade jewelry and the antics being sold. It is beautiful. It is great for people watching as well. This is the true local Taiwan experience. There were hardly any tourists here. Bargain if you are wanting to buy anything in the Jade Market. The vendors will make you a good deal. It looked authentic as a LOT of locals were shopping in this market. The Flower Market is colorful and beautiful. There were all sorts of Orchids, Cacti, Succulents, Bamboos and much much more. If you are a plant lover, DON'T miss this. It is a treat to the eyes. Highly recommend making time to visit the Flower and Jade market while in Taiwan. It is time well spend and totally worth it.
