Great community for a someone looking to get a glimpse into villages around Guangzhou. It's a great place to go during the late afternoon or early evening when the weather is cooling down a bit and the activity is growing. There are many local snacks you can try. Some of the specialties are ginger milk custard 姜汁撞奶 and double skin milk 双皮奶. Roast goose is also a popular dish served in restaurants in this part of town.If you plan to enter any of the museums, plan to arrive earlier in the day, as most of them close around 4 or 5. The "port" may not be what you'd expect, just a small dock, but it has some interesting historical significance. I saw some children walking around with live little crabs attached to sticks with some string. They consider it a plaything and dip it in the edge of the water. You never know what you'll see!

I think its a a living community with diversity. There are farmers, fishmans and shopkeepers in several villages near this place. And it's also a place with long history, since song dynasty it begun to play an important role in the overseas trade. You can spend a day wandering around, taking a boat on Pearl River, trying some feature snacks there and visiting 2 mini museums inside, it will be a lot of fun. What's more, spots inside always have english and korean edition of the introduction. tips: 1) one of 2 museums will open @ Tuesday-Sunday 9:00-16:30, another one I haven't confirm yet 2) the nearest metro station is Wanshengwei station in Line 8, you can take any bus will which stop at "Huangpu cun" 3) it is said there is no hostel inside, but there is a commerical hotel near the entrence of the village 4) there is a lot well-designed postcard being sold inside, prepare your friends address fisrt! 5) I met country fair there and I went there on Sunday, if you are lucky, you can meet country fair there also:)
