Tips for you

  • Be sure to bring sun block, sun tan, aloe vera lotion, etc...because it's very hot during noon time.
    What to bring
  • The islands are getting very crowded in the late morning - so try to be their at 8 - 8:30 the latest.
    Timming
  • The dock can be difficult to walk on in wavy weather - don't bring frail elderly people or very small children, as they could get hurt.
    Safety
  • You have to ask for your entrance ticket at Koh Hong and keep this with you. The ticket office will collect the money - but may not issue you a ticket
    Things to do
  • The sun here is very strong and you will be on a boat all day. So if you get sea sick or get motion sickness easy, buy medicine beforehand.

Get the tickets from the Ao Nang beach area, it costs from 750-950 Bahts per person. Do not get from the hotels or travel agencies, as they will cost you double or more. There will be a National Park fee of 300 Bahts that you would need to pay as well before you step on your boat. We took the long tail boat. It was big, covered nicely and not hot inside. Note: for unfit (like me) persons, the long tail ladder to climb back to the boat when you have finished swimming in the sea, is kinda tricky. As normal speedboats' ladders will reach inside the water and you can easily step on them and climb up, the long tail boat is not. You would need to do some advanced gymnast skills to get on the ladder and climb back up to the boat. After a few times, you would get the hang of it. But seriously, if you think your upper body strength is not up to par, take the speedboat instead :) Guides were good (Pranang Tour guys). Very helpful, friendly, chatty, responsive, happy and accommodating. Remember to get a waterproof casing/bag or a waterproof camera/phone as there will be awesome marine life underwater that you might want to capture. The view, lagoons, bays and cliffs were breathtaking. Put on your sunblock and just dip and swim and snorkel and kayak like there's no tomorrow.

Simply stunning. Go before 10AM on a Long boat to avoid the speed boat crowd when the water gets higher
