Why Hon Ba Nature Reserve is special ?
Hon Ba may be unfamiliar to many tourists, but to local citizen, it is like “Da Lat in the coastal city”. The beauty of the mountain is compared to a fairy hiding in the misted forest. Hon Ba is far 2 hours from Nha Trang city. The top of Hon Ba Mountain is 1600 metres above sea level. In summer, temperature here is just around 18 degree. The area has a temperate climate and boasts primitive forests hundreds of years old so it is an ideal place for those who want to discover wild, natural beauty. Allured by the charm of the area, we decided to make a trip to Hon Ba Mountain.
The nature reserve covers 19,000 hectares and is 30 kilometres from Nha Trang City. The reserve is home to 592 plant species and 255 kinds of animals, including 100 rare fauna and flora species listed in the Red Book of Endangered Species.
After getting out of Nha Trang and turning off the highway, you start going through stunning landscapes, slowly making your way up the mountain. Halfway up there is a great bathing place, and closer to the top the road starts winding and revealing amazing views. The serpantine road is especially fun when going down, it's like a roller-coaster

What to explore at Hon Ba Nature Reserve?
Tourists come to enjoy the feeling Hon Mrs mingle with the clouds of heaven, watch the sun rise from the horizon far away. The highlight tourist attraction here is the monument of Dr. Wood A.Yersin, as noted, this is the place to Yersin been in research and rare medicinal plant.
Don't forget to have a look a wooden house of the famous French doctor, Alexandre Yersin (1863-1943) who opened the path to the peak of the mountain 100 years ago. The two-floor wooden house covering a total area of 100m2 was restored in 2004. Now it is a library with many objects of great historical value, such as a stone table, chair and bed. However, we were mostly impressed by the garden of medicinal herbs with two hundred-year-old green tea trees (camellia sinensis).
On the way to Hon Ba Mountain, you can stop at Suoi Nguon Tourist Area at a height of 300m where we had a delicious meal of grilled chicken, while listening to the murmur of streams running through banana and durian forests and looking at the view of Nha Trang in the distance.
Hon Ba Mountains are suitable for outings with family and friends. In addition to eco-tourism services, restaurants and souvenir stalls, where the bungalow was built to serve tourists wishing to stay.

We went to Hon Ba exploring the beautiful countryside around Nha Trang and the ride was just amazing! There is Alexander Yersin museum at the top of the hill, but it's not about the destination, it's about the ride. After getting out of Nha Trang and turning off the highway, you start going through stunning landscapes, slowly making your way up the mountain. Halfway up there is a great bathing place, and closer to the top the road starts winding and revealing amazing views. The serpantine road is especially fun when going down, it's like a roller-coaster :) Rent a bike and just enjoy the peaceful and quiet forest. Oh, and don't forget warm clothes - it gets cold closer to the top.
