The hotel is decent, not great. It's clean, staffs are friendly. It is right next to the Intercontinental Bangkok so it saves time explaining to taxi drivers where is your hotel. It is right next to a BTS station and about 10 minutes walk to Siam Paragon, and 5 minutes walk to Central World, all elevated covered walkway. Let's talk about bathroom, no bathtub but has overhead shower head. The shower stall is a bit narrow so if you are a big guy then it may not be very comfortable. The toilet is not flushing very well so I've seen things that should've been flushed away but didn't. The room is clean in general. The room make up time is strangely late, I've experienced staff knocking on my door for make up at 4 p.m., not only that, they would knock on your door around 7 p.m. to ask if there's anything in the room that needs fill up. (like water, vanity kit...etc.) No toothbrush, so you need to ask for it. The bed is comfortable and has both soft and hard pillows available in the room to choose from. All TV channels is SD but I don't find this a big issue, who watches TV when they are in Bangkok? :P I had to warn that the wifi signal is not very good and IHG does not provide free wifi unless you are an IHG member. The front desk and lobby staffs are very helpful. Be careful that during morning rush hours taxi tends to go to Intercontinental instead of Holiday Inn, so the best bet is to wait there (just across the walkway). As an IHG Gold Elite member, I don't see any privilege in room selection. I've been assigned to a 3rd floor room (there are no 1st and 2nd floor) and overlooking the parking entrance. The sound proof of the room is very good so I didn't get any unwelcome noise. I am guessing it is because I checked in rather late (at 11:00 pm) but I would be happy to hear other IHG members experience.
