Why HEP Five is special ?
HEP Five Ferris Wheel is built on the roof of the HEP (means "Hankyu Entertainment Park") Five shopping complex which is an impressive sight. The diameter of the bright red ferris wheel is 75 metres and the highest point reaches 106 metres above ground. From the top, you can have a great view over downtown Osaka (Osaka Station, harbor) till Mt. Ikoma in the far distance. Every gondola is air conditioned, it is a very valuable fact during the hot and humid summer time.
With the romantic atmosphere in the gondola, it is really great destination for couple when visiting Osaka.

Adjacent to HEP Five is HEP Navio, a fashionable shopping complex that also features a Cineplex and restaurants.

Tips for you
My boyfriend and I hopped on to this ferries wheel not knowing what to expect. It was perched on top of the 7-storey high HEP Five Mall. And being mild acrophobia, we started to freak out and cursed our (or rather, my) hasty decision. The cabin could seat up to 4 pax but we had an entire cabin to ourselves because there was no crowd. It was a both a bane and a boon. While we enjoyed the luxury, the cabin would swing, ever so subtly like a pendulum, whenever we switched positions, adding on to our "psychological distress". Slowly approaching the apex of the ride, which is at 106 meters above the ground, we decided we were beyond the point of no return, and tried to distract ourselves with the scenery and picture-taking. The ferries wheel provides unblocked view of the surrounding, which I must say, is really breath-taking. There are decals pasted on all 4 window panels of the cabin, illustrating the various key buildings/landscapes and their names, which I thought was really informative and provided a quick way to gain bearing of our surroundings. If you enjoy ferries wheel ride, at 500 yen/pax, this is one cheap and value-for-money ride! We went during the day but the ferries wheel closes late at night (11pm, last admission is 10.45pm), which I imagine would be a great way to soak in the night view of the city.
The Ferris Wheel, situated on top of the 7F of the Hep Five, offers a great moment to view the city and take photos when paused on the top.
Ferris wheel sitting atop the 7th story of the Hep 5 building. It is beautifully lit up at night with an amazing view of the city. You can plug in your phone to the attached speakers to play your own music, which makes the experience more personal and memorable. The ferris wheel itself moves slow and I think the entire rotation is about 15 min. It is $5 per person. They take a pic of you prior to boarding and you can purchase it after if you'd like.
