Why Hallim Park is special ?

Hallim Park, located western 33km away from Jeju City and west of Mt. Hallasan along the beach in Hallimeup, is one of the most popular tourist spots on Jeju Island. It faces the pleasant scenery of Biyangdo Island, Hyeopjae Beach and Geumneung Beach. The park was established on barren land in Hyeopjaeri, Hallimeup, and covered with tons of earth and began planting assorted subtropical plants in early 1971. Hallim Park, almost 100 thousand square meters, has a variety of gardens that can be enjoyed in any season. Visitors can enjoy checking out Palm Tree Road, Jeju Stone and Bonsai Garden, Water Garden, Subtropical Botanic Garden and much more. The most famous tourist sites in Hallim Park are Hyeopjaegul and Ssangyonggul Caves known to be the only two-dimensional caves in the world. In addition, a folk village, children's amusement park and outdoor resort facilities make it enjoyable for both children and adults.

“Fantastic 9 themes park” On entering through the entrance, one comes to the palm tree avenue. Different types of palm trees and cactuses greet you. Next up is the wild grass and flowers garden. Felt relax walking along the path. Further ahead are the Hyeopjae and Ssangyong caves. These 2 caves were formed by an eruption of Mt Halla many years ago. The temperature inside the caves is around 18 degrees celsius throughout the year so walking inside was cooling. Look out for the famed natural monuments, Pillar, Mother , the two dragons up on the roof, stalactites and stalagmites, and Dr. Jin and the fox girl.. Coming out to the cave,Jeju stones greet you gesturing Welcome . Next proceed to Jae-am folk village where one can see thatched roof houses with stone walls. Do take a photo with the tall statue of Stone Grandfather, Dolharubang. Next will be the bird garden where you will see parrots, pheasants, ostriches and elegant peacocks walking around spreading their colourful stunning feathers. The following spot is Jae-am stone exhibit hall where over 200 stones are displayed. We were amazed by the natural stone sculptures in the shape of birds and waterfall. Walking on , following the signs, one comes to water garden where you can see 5 beautiful ponds, capped by the grand waterfall.. Finally you will reach the last section, subtropical botanic garden where there are palm trees, foliage plants, herbs alongside parrots, lizards, snakes and tortoises. After all the walking and photo taking, proceed to have lunch at Dolharubang restaurant to try Jeju's traditional foods, like the delicious pork bulgogi. Or you can have freshly made seafood at Palm Tree Restaurant. Or if you do not wish to lunch, you can enjoy fresh herb beverages at Herb Cafe.
