Hakone Ekiden Museum is a museum of art and design that showcases Hakone ekiden races. It is dedicated to the annual collegiate relay marathon now in its 92nd year. The "Ekiden" is one of the most watched and beloved sporting events in Japan. The race starts and ends in Tokyo with Lake Ashi as the turning point on the first day. Thousands of spectators line the streets of the race to cheer on the runners. The event has been considered as "The Greatest Race on Earth."
