Maybe one of the happiest places on Earth. Buy a ticket at the kiosks at AM/PM the same day, but have a Japanese person help you; there is no English UI.

Advise to fans - plan ahead by visiting the Ghibli Museum webpage and purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are available in selected countries or from JTB. I booked my tickets through Voyagin (instead of Viator as I wanted to try their service). The fee charged by Voyagin (Similar in Viator's case) was nearly 5 times the price of the tickets and they still want to charge for delivery to my hotel!Traveling to the museum is easy with 2 nearest station within walking distance to the museum. From Mitaka, you can either take a pleasant stroll along the Tamagawa Josui canal or the bus painted with Ghibli cartoons. We walked from Mitaka to museum and on the return trip, we walked through the park (currently under renovation) to Kichijo-ji station. The museum is as described by others so I will skip that. The entry is strictly by advance ticket purchase but the museum should put another souvenir store outside the entrance. The shop inside the museum was too packed. We were prepared to spend but it was too crowded so we left without any purchase. Strangely they don't sell any DVDs or Blu-rays. I was looking out for a special edition box set.[Note: there is a store at the Narita airport that sells some Ghibli items too].For Hayao Miyazaki fans, this trip is not a visit but a pilgrimage.

It is a great place whenever it may come! Although I think that it is only the 3rd time, since it is about the short movie and special exhibition which are done each time, he can enjoy himself! After various [ a blue sky ] flower in a wall is drawn on the ceiling of a small movie theater "Saturn seat" and a movie finishes with it, a window opens to it and the light of a day shines on it. It is good for a movie projector to be also visible! "Nutcracker exhibition" The special exhibition last month was done exactly! A fantastic and favorite work. Since inside of a hall is the ban on photography, the photograph eaten at the outer restaurant is raised!

We went to this museum because our friend has an obsession with all things Ghibli and so didn't really know what to expect but we really enjoyed ourselves. The museum is beautifully arranged and shows the original drawings, ideas and films of the cartoon characters which was so impressive and makes you feel like you are in a dream land. The drawings are incredible and Japan is lucky to have this heritage. You get to watch a film of this animation which was great although there were no English subtitles. They show the film 3 times in an hour.A great experience and well worth a visit.
