Tips for you
It's kind of far from Taipei city center so we decided to take the MRT as far as we could go, then take one of Taipei's abundant and inexpensive taxis to be dropped off at the entrance to the water park. Taxi fare from Guandu station on the No. 2 Red Line took about 15 to 20 minutes and only cost around 300 NTD (approximately 8 Euros). Totally worth it. The park is really a lot of fun. It's well-maintained and has around 13 different waterslides to choose from. As it was a weekday and late in the afternoon, lines were practically nonexistent and we did not wait more than 5 or 10 minutes, with most of wait well under 5 minutes. I had pictured lots of lounge chairs around a massive communal pool, but there's nothing like that here. There are only communal tables and chairs in an open, covered area. There are lockers for valuables but as this is Taiwan where crime is so low it's virtually nonexistent, almost everyone uses lockers for the most valuable stuff and leaves the rest unattended on tables in the communal sitting area. Having been living here long enough to understand you can really do that, we did the same with our belongings and it was totally fine. As others have pointed out, the food options are not that great, so consider bringing your own. Also be sure to check the opening times - only July and August have late opening hours.
