Tips for you

  • There are toilets and little eating places near the car park then it is about an 800 meter walk to the pool (slightly uphill).
    What to know
  • Low season is the best time as the color of the water is so much nicer, during high season there are to many people in the pool.
    Timming
  • You have to be careful when walking on the edges of the pool. It is very slippery because of high calcium carbonate deposits.
    Safety
  • Food and drinks are not allowed to be taken into the pool area - except for bottles of water.
    Things to do
  • The water in the Emerald Pool comes from the very porous rock layers and contains high amounts of Calcium Carbonate so you cannot drink it.
    Things to do
  • You should try to get there early and if your lucky you will have the pool nearly to yourself.

First of all, you have to remember that this is a natural pool not man made. As far as that goes I think this place is outstanding as the waters were clear and surrounded by so many beautiful streams. The pool itself was surprisingly large and if you dive in with your goggles, you can see a lot of tiny fishes inside. Watch your steps tho the area is very slippery. Great place to cool off.
