This is a great place to buy a painted elephant souvenir or paint your own (starting at 600 Bath). Money goes toward saving elephants.http://theeyesofnick.tumblr.com/post/76934261590/chiangmaithailand
You can paint an elephant starting at 600 baht or but a painted one starting around 1000 baht. I decided to buy a painted one since I can't paint. Ha. Hours 10am-7pm.
We love this shop and the focus on elephant protection around the world. If you are looking for a creative souvenir or gift that supports a worthy cause, then this is a place you will enjoy. The quality if craftsmanship is excellent, and the variety of whimsical artistry is a delight. As well as there little studio area for painting your own elephant, they have gift boxes with a blank ceramic elephant you can paint yourself or give to someone else as a gift.On-site parking and restroom make this an easy choice for a stop. You will also find some other excellent shops near by, like the Sop Moei Arts shop; an excellent shop with Karin Hill Tribe Baskets and Textiles. We bought a ton of stuff here too.
Elephants of all shapes, sizes and colours are for sale to support The Asian Elephant Foundation an independent, non-profit foundation with aims of awareness, education, developing solutions for the human-elephant conflict over land and health and well being of the Asian Elephants.U can also paint your own whilst there of u like.We bought a beautiful lady called Beauty in Pink which will have pride of place at home. There are no excuses not to visit with a fantastic coffee shop next door and a heap of restaurants across the road on the river.
I visited this shop recently and was amazed by all the lovely art work on the elephants; this is a great cause and I hope many people will take it up to help the elephants.
