Tips for you

  • Unless you enjoy a decent crowd, you should avoid the market when cruise ships arrive (usually once a week) at the pier, bringing thousands of travellers, who fill the town and market place.
    What to know
  • At most times of the day this can be a busy place with the local traffic running along the road so you should be careful with it.
  • The sea food is so fresh that you choose what you want to eat while it is still alive.
    Things to do
  • It's a local market, not a tourist site, you should not go in large groups, it'll be easier for you and less intimidating for the vendors if there are just 2 or 3 of you.

Seems to be a bustling market for locals, best for people watching and soaking in local culture rather than shopping unless you want fresh seafood or veggies of which there is an abundance. Definitely worth checking out...

This is not to be missed. If you love Fresh BBQ Fish and Seafood then this will be something you will enjoy. We had the BBQ Red Snapper and Sea Bass with some rice and vegetables.... You choose the fish and they cook it. We loved it and would go back in a heart beat. Rest of market is friendly. Great pancakes and frozen ice cream rolls.... Really worth going in the evening.
