Why Drop Coffee House is special ?
The atmosphere is great - in a restored old Japanese house with lots of wood, huge windows looking out over NTU and the sidewalk of Xinsheng S. Road, big, clunky candleholders and a mix of bartops with uncomfortable chairs and low tables with comfier-looking seating. (The bartops are a little wobbly). There's a huge countertop, too, but no laptop plugs near it.
Set in an 80-year-old gutted Japanese-era private residence, and serving single-origin coffee from places such as Rwanda and Brazil, this place looks so inviting you'd stop in even without a recommendation.
Drop Coffee House has become a successful coffee shop franchise in Taipei with 6 branches in northern Taiwan. They focus on finding old houses at the corners of cities and transform them into cozy spaces for enjoying fine-made coffee. The ‘latest’ project is No.11 on Fuzhou Street. There is no brand or sign at the gate. You can only tell by the light coming out from the house.
