Why David Pizzeria is special ?
David’s is a very popular restaurant, especially for expats. Beginning of December 2011, they moved from the place across the ferry station to a slightly bigger place 300 meters up the road, next to Belly’s and Tommy’s. If you come from the ferry station, take a right in the direction of the Jesus statue.
In the new place David’s still has the success formula with the up stairs seating from where you can overlook the ocean and catch the breeze
The place is run by Micheal, the Italian chef, his lovely Vietnamese wife Loan and their Vietnamese staff. On some nights it can get pretty busy and I can feel the Italian hectic atmosphere. On the menu you will find home made fresh pasta, pizza’s, steaks, caprese salad with on sight grown fresh Italian basil and great desserts like tiramisu. I really like the pizza’s here, the ‘David’ with spicy sausage and cheese and ‘parma’ are my favorites. The wine selection is pretty good too.
They serve both local and Italian dishes: pizza, pasta, antipasti, Mediterranean salads, home bread, deserts, as well as a nice wine selection, out of which il vino de la casa (red, brought from Sicily) is amazing (210,000 VND / 0.5 l)

It's an amazing menu and very authentic with an open and clean kitchen. It's probably the most famous restaurant in vungtau.
“genuinely great Pizza, friendly, relaxed good place to chill” I was working in Vung Tau for a while, I did try to eat locally on the whole, but ocassionally I'd crave some familiar western-style venue and I'd cave in and go somewhere I could understand the menu - as a vegetarian I wasnt too adventurous. So it was I went to David’s Pizzeria in Vung Tau. It is expensive, but genuinely very good, and refreshingly, not populated by scantily clad 'girls' that are ubiquitous along some of other beach front establishments which cater for a different clientele. The staff here wear jeans and T-shirts rather than tight taut little mini skirts that leave nothing to the imagination. You can order a proper pizza if you wish, I have before and they were great, not just great 'considering it's Vietnam' but great compared with pizzas I've had in the UK. However, what I was craving on this particular visit was vegetables, so I ordered morning glory in garlic. . The things that look like sliced mushrooms, are actually slices of garlic, and it comes lightly sauteed in some sort of oil which I don’t quite recognise. Very nice indeed though. Ruinously expensive (85,000 VD – which I know is ridiculous,) but I am paying the penalty for not being able to speak Vietnamese. Worth it for me though, vegetable fix at last! This is also a place with friendly staff, English language menu, sea views, good to just sit and watch the world go by.
