Why Couleur d'Asie is special ?

Couleur d'Asie (Colour of Asia) is a restaurant, an art gallery, and a fashion outlet combined. It is easy to find and is a must for anyone with an interest in art, design, or simply good food and teas.

The restaurant and shop offer up artistic creations of various kinds, and there is even a mini bookshop. The art gallery features designer products such as clothing, jewellery, decorative accessories and furniture.

Colourful as an artist's palette, this delightful boutique owned by a French-Vietnamese dress designer has a vivid range of ladies dresses, men's linen shirts and boho chemises. They also sell lovely jewelry, bed runners, and silk shawls. Upstairs you can see the dresses being made and have one fitted to order.

This must be the prettiest, most chilled, most laid back cafe in Vientiane. Very attractively decorated, with eye catching abstract art on the walls, this venue doubles up as an art and craft/clothes shop as well as cute bistro style cafe-bar. It is a shame that not many people seem to go there but that does give the added advantage of a nice peaceful breakfast or lunch, somewhere to read a book while you sip on an after lunch cocktail, or while away the time on your lap top after a delicious coffee and breakfast. The Laos coffee was particularly delicious but we chose international food during the time we were here. We tried several soups - all of which were delicious, my husband loved the fish and french fries whereas I particularly enjoyed their salads. Their desserts were pretty good to - attractively laid out centrally, on a table, for guests to see. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the home made pate, as although the lean bits were extremely tasty, unfortunately there were also very bit pieces of pure white fat in the pate which didn't exactly look very pleasing on the eye, nor taste too good. However, that was the only food I didn't enjoy there. The wine and cocktails are pretty good too. Final mention must e made of the lovely, friendly and welcoming staff , particularly the owner who was a very warm, friendly and helpful man. A little gem of a place in Vientiane.

We found this place by walking the streets and thought this is an interesting concept. You don't see a boutique and a restaurant blended together very often. My wife was strolling around the shop after we ordered food and you guess: She was (almost) lucky. Her favourite blouse was not available in her size. But she forgotten when the food arrived. It was delicious, beautiful arranged and served by a very friendly waiter.Prices are not cheep but worth every Kip.We definitly go back next time we are in Vientiane. Thanks for the interesting experiance.

I had lunch three times here during my stay in Vientiane. I can strongly recommend the set lunches, either the three course at 70,000 Kip or two course at 55,000 Kip. For me the high-light was the wide choice of pastries. Restaurant dining area very attractive. Service efficient.
