Why Cong Cafe is special ?
Cộng Càphê, founded in 2007, is a sixteen-branch mini chain, where they take coffee seriously. The cafe uses a range of the best coffees available in the capital, preparing the drinks in traditional Vietnamese coffee-making gear, thus adding a real plus to the flavours present in their retro enamel cups.
Their quality-focused artisan coffee shop is a great place to drink, eat or work in a homey, unique Hanoian atmosphere. Cộng Càphê (which means Viet Cong in Vietnamese) recalls the socialist era with humour and parody with its bare brick walls, dark wood handmade tables, propaganda posters and slight militaristic hint.
If you wish to have some work done, read a book, catch up with friends or need a place to hang out at the weekend, don’t hesitate – hop on your bike and visit them!
Must try dishes:
Nau da ( iced milk coffee)
Den nong ( hot black)
Sua chua (coffee with yoghurt)
Cot dua (coffee with frozen coconut)

Tips for you
Superb coffee in a very relaxed atmosphere. Come here to work, watch the world go by and -- well -- just chill.
It's in a great people watching location with really original Army/ War related interior design but with a pleasant modern twist . My first coffee, coffee with condensed milk was the strongest sweetest coffee ever. Same day, second visit, coffee with coconut was my first experience of cold coffee and again was great. The staff staff are lovely, polite & helpful. The stairs up are fun,& challenging but definitely do- able. The views to watch the traffic etc are awesome. Will definitely go again when in Hanoi - next week :)
