Tips for you

  • They have an English menu for customers which is not a common practise as most restaurants only have Chinese menu. All you would need to do is tick and indicate the number of plates of dim sum you wish to order.
    Things to do
  • You can order from the menu but for fish and seafood you get to point out what you want.
    Things to do
  • Each of customers are given a set of 'tools' to assist you with eating the hairy crab.
  • As you enter the restaurant, you will notice many fish tanks filled with a variety of seafood such as lobsters, crabs, fishes, crayfish, calms, frogs and prawns.
    What to see
  • The entrance to Chuk Yuen Seafood Restaurant is easy to miss as it has just a small entrance.
  • Look at the amount of herbals being used in the Chicken Feet in Chinese Herbal Soup. The soup is very strong in herbal taste. If you are not a fan of herbs, this is a dish to avoid.
    What to know
  • The place is always packed for lunch and dinner so come early or make a reservation.
  • When you sit down they offer you a choice of free orange juice or sugar cane juice. After lunch they also give you free fruit.

I always come here when visiting hong kong and I can tell you the food has not gone down hill at all. It's not cheap for hong kong, however i personally think its worth the money and so do my friends and family to those I recommnded to. 9 of us dined here today including kids and ordered a huge selection of dim sum. Apart from the spare ribs, everything else was very good. Service I wouldn't exactly call friendly or top notch, however you get served and your food is great.
