Why Chez Max is special ?

Chez Max Restaurant is a nice discovery near the Garden hotel in Guangzhou Limited menu, simple but fresh ingredients Service could be a little faster Good set menu.

Food quality and menu selection are great, and they have an excellent wine menu that is reasonably priced

French Owner/Chef Ivan is a great person and an asset to the community in Guangzhou.

Food is nice, service is good. Great for groups and also intimate dinners.

The wait staff share the same pleasant ease yet still maintain a sense of professionalism without being too pushy.

Fresh Goat Cheese with Lavender Honey ( $11.08) and Tomato Tart (7.82$) The fresh goat cheese touched with zingy fresh peppercorn berries is reminiscent of smooth butter--a fine specimen enough to savor alone. The tart’s savory flavor focuses on the tomato’s natural sweetness brought out with scants of pesto and balsamic reduction to counter with saltiness.

Chez Max’s Steak Tartare ($ 22.48 ) is a plentiful mound of high quality raw meat where eat bite melts in your mouth.

Entrecote origins ( $27.36 for the Mongolian Cut) and it definitely shows the quality of meat between its sources.

What you will find restaurants are like in the next city Having read EDUARD Vs july review of Chez Max ...his second review , I was reminded of the man who asked the philosopher at the side of the road "What are the restaurants like in the next city?" What were they like in the last city? asked the wise man. " They were awfull They claimed to be French and Parisian but the chefs could not cook and they knew nothing about food, wine or hospitality."...The wise man replied" I think you are Eduard V and .I think wherever you go you will find them much the same"....".oh and dont be suprised if they charge you for lemon slices". To all Tripadvisors readers some advice based on Eduards Bitter experience Go back to restaurants that you write are no good and you should expect that lemon slices will be very very expensive Eduard Chez Max is a happy experience for most young couples and seems to be increasing in popularity with the young Chinese but for many expats like me it is the only place in Guangzhou were I can guarantee to get a first class meal and a decent wine This restaurant will become one of the top 3 restaurants in Guangzhou by the end of 2014 and when it does arrange to have a meal with me Eduard and I will pay for everything including the lemons
