We recently did the morning cooking class . Everything about the cooking class was interesting and very professional . We were picked up by tuk tuk and taken to the Sojourn Resort where wewere met by a very friendly and informative host . She took us to visit a local family in the villagewhere we were able to chat to the family with the guide as translator and we were shown atypical village kitchen .We also learnt that the resort has been of benefit to the community asthey have been able to assist the village with improved garbage collection services and the provision of clean drinking water . We also presented the family we visited with a bag of rice .Back at the cooking school pavilion , we all had our own work station and it was a lot of funpreparing our lunch menu . When the food was ready it was served to us beautifully on acommunal table set out over the lily pond . I would recommend this to anyone , it was madeall the more special because of the great staff and the location in the village . We even had thelocal children waving and calling hello as they rode home from school .
The Cambodian cooking class was recommended to me by my boss and I will be thanking her for this very soon. What a great day we had, well organized, pleasant staff and a great venue. We were picked up and delivered back to our hotel. They catered to my vegetarian needs and they also share profits with local families. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Siem Reap.
Learnt heaps and cooked a delicious meal in a beautiful environment. A great morning's outing. I was also picked up and delivered from/to my hotelDefinitely recommend, and great value for money.
What a way to spend a day! The classes are run so well, with hotel pick ups to bring you to the location outside of town. What I loved about it is that we had the privilege of being allowed to visit a local woman in the village and see her kitchen and hear about how she cooks and about her family. It was a really special experiece! The chefs are great but for me the most wonderful person was the young woman who was our assistant while we did the cooking, she had superb English and was so helpful and kind. The class was lots of fun and the best part was that we got to eat all the food after! We were also given a cook book with the recipes so that we can practise out Khmer cooking at home! A highly enjoyable day, don't miss it!
