I am not keen on shopping but do find the place interesting. There are all kinds of stalls selling jewels, jade, paintings, clothes and handbags, etc. Things are cheap but do need bargains. Stalls do sell 'real' gems and jade but most are with poor quality. If you are not the expert in the field, don't buy it or buy it as it's just some kind of affordable accessory. Do bear in mind, there is no air condition in the market.

It's a large market with a maze of local and interesting stuff (and some fake stuff also). Great to walk around and pick up souveniers.

We only had 1.5 hours for this vast market. There were thousands of treasures to be found here. Haggling was tough and most vendors just let you walk away (unlike Vietnam or Thailand), it was very difficult to get the price down. There are some great finds here that can't be found in any other part of SE Asia.
