Why Beitou Quanyuan Park Foot Bath Area is special ?

The park is a little out of the way, so use of google maps is recommended (provided below). The foot bath area is located in the north eastern end of the park and is about a 15-20 minute uphill walk from MRT Xin Beitou Station. The park alone probably does not justify a trip to Beitou, but there are many other spots of interest in the vicinity, and a quick stop to refresh ones feet can easily be added to an itinerary while exploring the general Betiou area. The hot spring facilities when renovated in 2012 and consist of a 20 meter long foot bath, shoe change area with cubbyholes, and a hand operated pump with cold water to wash off your feet before and after use. The park is also a great place for peaceful walks under the lush green canopy.

Since the Public Beitou Hot springs required Men to wear swim trunks and not swim shorts, we had to opt for the free public foot bath at Quan Yuan Park. I Have to say it was quite a walk to get here, but well worth it after a long walk to dip your feet into the sulfur water and soak. the closer you are to where the Hot spring water comes out, the hotter the water is. I don't know how the locals do it I can barely stand at the middle where it was really hot to me already. There is also a area where you pump water up to wash your feet before soaking and after to get off the surfer on your feet once your done.
