Why Banh Mi 25 is special ?
The taste of Banh Mi depends on what kind of filling you want to add for your Banh Mi. There are tens of choice placed in a plate or directly added Banh Mi. The most common Banh Mi for both local and tourists are the Mixed Banh Mi which has all of the ingredients inside. Sounds interesting, right? Let's give it a try to understand more about one of the best street food in Viet Nam.
At 25 Hang Ca Street, situated just outside of a lock shop, you will find Banh Mi 25, Hanoi’s primo street-side sandwich vendor. Quickly having become one of Hanoi’s most recognisable fares, this sandwich shack delivers divinely crisp French baguettes loaded with handmade pâtés, barbecued pork, French ham, crisp vegetables and a balanced family sauce to top it all off. With free tea and bananas on the side, and an always-smiling Phuong running the show, Banh Mi 25 serves up sandwiches that are hard to beat, not just for the Vietnamese, but for the world at large.

Tips for you
Not that this place needs another review, but the owner was so awfully nice, I have to add my 2 cents. The sandwiches were out of this world. Even though some folks in our party werent hungry, they forced themselves to eat one. And we came back again so we could all properly wolf down more than one each. My fave was the egg and cheese, but loved them all Special shout out to the owner - when he learnt we were leaving on the train to Sa Pa shortly after our stop here, he plied us with moon cakes and bananas and a bunch of stuff to "eat on the train, and hopefully make the journey less painful".
Had Banh Mis from south to North. Honestly, the best ones I've had so far. A lot feel kind of western when you eat them. These tasted authentically Vietnamese with a good dollop coriander, cucumber and lettuce. You have 3 meats to choose from or "everything" (all 3 in one) I had "everything" and it was handed to me in minutes, with piping hot bread. Free ice tea and bananas are also provides but the taste was perfect. An explosion of meats and vegetables and not too spicy (although you can request the level of spice) It was so good, I had another and it was still only 50,000 VND for both. Sincerely recommend it. It's so popular you'll find most customers are tourists but you're sitting outside on the street and it's still a wonderful way to start the day. You can also take away in nice plastic or paper bags of you want!
Fantastic banh mi made fresh in front of you - true Vietnamese street food. There's minimal seating next to the stall but you can takeaway. There were four types to choose from - pate, ham, sausage or all of the above. So good, full of flavour and crunch, that we came back twice in our four day stay in Hanoi.
The service and food are amazing. Best banh mi ever. All of the ingredients are so fresh and delicious. We came here every day while in Hanoi. Can't recommend it enough. The pâté is our favorite.
