Why Balle Balle Indian Restaurant is special ?

Balle Balle offers a wide range of tasty Punjabi Indian cuisine such as tandoori snacks, spicy samosas, and a long list of both vegetarian and non vegetarian curries. You also know you are getting the most authentic and finest Indian food in the city as the ingredients come from Mr. Kant’s other business venture, Taipei’s premier Indian specialty store, which supplies the Indian restaurants and families in the city.

The restaurant is open daily from 11am to 10pm and is managed by one of Mr. Kant’s longest serving employees from the specialty store, Mr. GV. The friendly manager speaks both English and Chinese, and is always eager to explain the menu and offer suggestions about what to order.

The vegetarian alternative to the chicken tandoori snack is paneer tikka, which involves Indian cottage cheese grilled in a clay oven. Among them, hariyali paneer tikka (NT$410) is marinated with yogurt, cashew paste and flavored with mint and spinach.

The restaurant has a wide variety of naan, roti, kulcha and paratha. Both the garlic naan (NT$75) and tandoori roti (NT$85),Amritsari aloo kulcha (NT$120) particularly impressed with the savory stuffing of mashed potatoes and spices.

For drinks, the restaurant offers the richest and thickest mango lassi (NT$120) or the pudhina nimbu soda (NT$80), that aids digestion with a concoction of mint leaves, lime, black pepper and salt.

“First indian restaurant I tried in Taiwan!” This was the first restaurant I tried in Taipei. It was definitely worth the trip from my campus dorms 7 km away–a short distance for a taste of India. The staff there were very courteous, offering to make any dishes that were not on the menu, if we were craving a particular Indian dish. The restaurant is quite small, making it more personal and able to give more attention to a smaller number of diners. The décor was very pleasant, With a traditional feel. Indian music plays on the speakers to add to the atmosphere. What I would recommend: the sabz chaar baug with garlic naan. I also requested a dish that they did not have on the menu: a navratan curry. The staff did not hesitate in taking on this challenge and I have to say that it was made to perfection. As we arrived a little late, around 9 PM, we had to rush our food due to the fact that the restaurant was closing at 10 PM and the kitchen was already taking the last orders at nine p.m. I would recommend arriving at around 8 PM to avoid the rush. However, the owner of the restaurant offered us free drinks on our next return due to not being able to eat in a relaxed manner. Needless to say, the food was so good that we ate pretty quickly anyways! For six people, we had six curries, alongside a mixture of six different types of indian bread: lachha paratha, garlic naan, tandoori roti and butter naan. The total came to around 3500 ntd, which was fair considering the fact that we actually over-ordered, not realising that two people could actually share one curry! Overall, a wonderful dining experience with excellent customer service to accompany first-class Indian food. This is coming from an Indian living in the UK, which is a very competitive market for Indian cuisine. Will definitely return.

AMAZING FOOD!! I was blown away :) I convinced my friend to come with me to grab Indian food for dinner because it has been over six months since I've had it and I needed something other than niu rou mian for dinner ;) We arrived right when it opened at 5:30 and were seated promptly by the man who I believe is the owner. He was very nice and happy to help us select the dishes for our meal. We decided on the plain naan, the chicken masala, the vegetable biryani, and the chickpeas. The owner also suggested we have an order of fried potato patties, which we agreed to because he made them sound so delicious, and they were an off menu item. The waitress brought us some American sized water glasses which was awesome (because I drink a lot of water when I eat), and she also placed a small tray of papadum on our table with mint and tamarind sauce. We waited around 10-15 minutes and then our food started coming out! The potato patties were delicious but super filling! I'm glad we ordered them, especially because the owner showed us how to eat them: smash them with your fork, add a spoonful of chickpeas, and add onions and whatever sauce on top. They were awesome! Next we had the chicken masala which had a delicious tangy, spicy tomato sauce that paired perfectly with the plain naan we ordered. The naan was very light and soft so we ate it super quickly. I also enjoyed the biryani, although it was a tad spicy for me but when combined with some of the other dishes it evened out. The interior of the restaurant is very warm and cozy, so it's easy to relax and spend a lot of time here. The owner is welcoming and hospitable; he chatted with us for a bit before we left and he's a really nice guy! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable and the service was perfect. I'll definitely be back when I have another craving for Indian food!
