We were recommended to this restaurant by the locals during a tour of the city. The set up was amazing - from walking into the restaurant and the lovely garden surroundings. We decided to opt for the outside seating to enjoy the lovely weather. The waiters and waitresses were dressed in imperial costumes and greeted everyone with a bow and well wishes. We had a short chat with some of them and they were very pleasant and charming. It is a one of a kind experience to dine there and enjoy the atmosphere as if you were dining in those imperial times. The food was great too but on the pricey end.Remember to call for reservations prior to dining as during peak periods it is quite difficult to get a table.

We stumbled across this place while staying in the area and were blown away by the surreal beauty of the outdoor restaurant areas and gardens. After a tour of the gardens, with staff in Imperial dress bowing as we passed, we made a reservation for my friend's birthday the following day. Admittedly it was expensive for China but at ÂŁ15 a head including drinks and more food than we could all handle it was well worth it for the setting and the service. Delicious dishes and well worth a visit!
