Why Bach Ma National Park is special ?
Bạch Mã National Park (Vietnamese: Vườn quốc gia Bạch Mã) is a protected area in central Vietnam, near the city of Huế. It covers 220 km2 and comprises three zones: a strictly protected core area, an administrative area and a buffer zone.
In 2004, the park was being considered for expansion in order to create a corridor from the border with Laos to the sea.
The Bach Ma national park is well-known for its biodiversity with many species of rare animals and plants. There are over 500 species which serve for medicine. The climate of Bach Ma is very nice. Reaching at 1500m, the top of Bach Ma is covered by clouds.
According to Ngu Ho pathway, Visitors will come to large stream where they can enjoy cold water and see rock under the water.
What to explore at Bach Ma National Park?
Bach Ma will not fail you in a single bit in terms of activities. One can camp, trek, rappel or simply wander through the jungle to discover the beauty of Bach Ma’s flora and fauna. At Do Quyen Fall (Rhododendrun Fall,) adventurers have chance to thrillingly abseil down the upper section of the fall. Or else, visitors can walk down to the bottom of the falls to catch the whole fantastic view of the fall and spend more time swimming in the stream.
Nature lovers, especially those who are eager for bird-watching would find Bach Ma a real paradise on the ground. The 358 species of birds in the park account for more than one-third of the bird species of Vietnam, including the fabulous crested argus pheasant and the tenacious Edwards’ pheasant (the symbol of Bach Ma National Park) – unseen and thought to be extinct for 50 years. Numerous bird species like pigeons, bulbuls, malkohas, crow pheasant, herons and egrets but sights of parakeets, kingfishers or jungle fowl are worth adding to tourists’ bird-watching collection.
There are some houseguests on the top of Bach Ma. Visitor can book before and enjoy the beauty of national park at night.
In the national park, tourists can buy souvenirs which are made from natural material.

Tips for you
If you want to see some nice nature in Vietnam, then this is one of the places you can visit. I went here all the way from Hoi An, leaving at 6:00 in the morning and arriving at 8:00 at the entrance of the park. Here they have a small information centre and some (dirty!) restrooms. We had a private driver who drove us first to the summit trail which took about 50 minutes. The sumit trail gives you a nice view over the whole national park and there is also a huge bell which you can ring :). After the summit trail we drove to the beginning of the 5 lakes trail which eventually continues in the rhododendron path. It was a nice hike with good paths, but you're still going trough some nice jungle environment. We saw some nice cascades and waterfalls, but also alot of strange insects and beautifull butterflies. We had a nice and relaxed day and finished the last trail at 5:00. So it's no problem to walk three trails one day. The summit, 5 lake or rhododendron trail are easy to walk. But, I would not recommend walking down to the bottom of the waterfall that lies next to the rododendron trail. If your condition is bad at least, since the view is nice. Walking down is okay, but back up the 900 irregular shaped steps in Vietnams humid climate was really tough.... The entrance fee for the park was 40.000 dong. At the entrance they also have a map with all the hiking trails on it.
1450m high above the sea. From bottom to top of Bach Ma Mountain about 19km with many pass, narrow road. Natural but nothing, dont have a good restaurant like Ba Na Hill
