Why Aroma 2 Restaurant is special ?
Aroma 2 is a restaurant in Bagan, which serves an unlimited supply of rice with some delicious, powerfully flavoured Indian curries. ‘No good, no pay’ is the mantra of this justifiably confident operation. It takes a bold restaurateur to put potential profits on the line by pledging “No good, no pay” for every meal served. Yet it’s also a very clever marketing strategy that makes Aroma 2 stand out from the rest of the restaurants in Bagan’s tourist hot spot of Nyaung U – which is no easy feat.
Aroma (2) boasts a small bridge as an entrance-way to the open air restaurants and a warm glow is cast over diners at night with attractive lamps. The restaurant is also famous for its delicious veggie and meat curries on banana leaves (or plates) with an endless stream of hot chapattis and five dollops of condiments (including tamarind and mint sauces). With some advance notice, the chef can also whip up various biryani rice dishes.

Tips for you
The food was absolutely delicious and was the best Indian food I've probably ever had. Other reviews say the atmosphere wasn't good, but we thought it was great. When we dined here, it was a clear night so they had candle-lit tables outside with some mood lighting on the side of the restaurant building. The service was excellent and the price was reasonable. Definitely recommended if you like Indian food and are in Bagan.
