Why Amore Pizzeria is special ?
Amore Pizzeria is the “Best pizza in town!” boasts a sign out front — fightin’ words. But they aren’t merely hyperbole. The homemade dough was rolled and baked into a crust that was just the right thickness, slightly crispy around the crimping and underneath, and chewy everywhere else. Mozzarella and a homemade sauce, infused with Italian herbs, covered the pie.
Though the decor is drab, Amore’s amiable owner, James Chen (陳建堂), knows what he’s doing. Having learned to cook Italian food in the early 1980s in New Jersey from an old Italian who ran six restaurants, Chen spent the past three decades perfecting what he does best: pizza.

Tips for you
“Best pizza in Taipei!” I've been searching for a decent pizza place in Taipei for a while and had been disappointed with most of the popular options (Alleycats, Mary Jane's, etc.) I can't believe it took me so long to find this place! It's definitely the best pizza I've had in Taipei, and much closer to the "real deal" than anywhere else I've been to. The pizza seems to be more NY-style, with chewy crust, and lots of cheese and sauce. This is one of the few places in Taiwan you can go to order a plain cheese pizza without being given a look of utter confusion. They also have strombolis (!!!). I tried one and while not the best stromboli I've had by a far stretch (needed more sauce), I was just excited to be eating a stromboli in Taiwan at all. The interior is small and cozy, someone similar to what you'd see in a pizzeria back in the States. They serve beer and wine as well, I believe. You can order delivery via FoodPanda (not sure if they deliver directly as well).
