Tips for you
While any tourist will immediately be able to tell Aeon isn't the place to go for unique and exciting visits, it is important to note that this is a great place to go for the change of scenery out of the dust and heat. I was pleasantly surprised to see how big a grocery selection they had. Admittedly, I couldn't find tortillas, so clearly they're missing a lot of what Westerners would consider "staples", but so refreshing compared to Lucky Supermarket. The bathrooms are actually quite beautiful too, with sitting areas outside and large plants to keep it all very relaxed. Huge difference from many Thai and American malls. In terms of clothing brands, if you're the type to want luxury items, you're better off in Bangkok. Big malls, extreme selection for any taste... You're not going to find that here. I noticed an Adidas and a Mango, along with some other things. If you're living in Phnom Penh as an expat though, this is where you'll find the household goods you need. I also noticed that if you're looking forward to a big summer blockbuster but realize you'll be overseas in Phnom Penh, you should have no fear! Aeon has a great movie theater, excellent popcorn, and tickets were only USD $4 per person!
